Defensive lineman Justin Rogers gives update on fall camp
As fall camp continues to move along more and more questions are being answered. Justin Rogers, a newcomer to Auburn's defensive line, has helped answer some of those questions.
Rogers transferred to Auburn from Kentucky where he played for three seasons. He played in 33 games and made 60 tackles, five of them being for loss.
Hugh Freeze and defensive coordinator Ron Roberts have tried to bring in as much talent to the defensive line room as possible. Rogers was asked if he had ever played with a defensive line group as deep as this one.
"No, not this one," Rogers said. "My last year at Kentucky we definitely were deep and we had a nice rotation but this rotation? Everybody's athletic."
Rogers has developed a reputation as a talented pass rusher and has been focusing on that skill.
"Just keep working my hands," Rogers said on what he is trying to do to hone in on that skill. "Just listen to the coaches and see what little stuff I can do to get better. This is my last year and I need to do everything I can do to get to the next level."
Auburn's defensive unit as a whole will be looking to improve drastically in 2023. With significant overhaul at every position, it will be interesting to see what the Tigers are able to accomplish on that side of the ball this season.
