Auburn's fall camp is heating up as the first fall scrimmage is behind them.

Hugh Freeze's team saw action from multiple quarterbacks as well as several running backs who were able to create separation. With some defenders getting involved more as the scrimmage developed, here are three winners from Saturday's scrimmage based on reports.

Elijah McAllister, Jack

The Vanderbilt transfer had a day on Saturday. He was involved in sacks, tackles behind the line of scrimmage, and batted down a pass from Payton Thorne.

Brian Battie, Running back

You can't tackle what you can't see. Battie has had a knack for getting past the first line of Auburn's defense in practice and has turned that into gaining chunk yardage on the ground. Battie will have a big role when it comes to determining what the market share of touches is for the running back room.

Connor Lew, OL

The more people I talk to over the weekend, the more praise I hear for the true freshman center. Lew continues to compete and hold his own even when going against the starting defensive line. One thing that is mentioned often is that like most freshmen, consistency is the biggest factor.

What's happening today

Auburn will practice today. After practice, Auburn will make OL Jalil Irvin, RB Damari Alston, DL Jayson Jones, DB Zion Puckett, and Jack Jalen McLeod available for media.

There will be no viewing window for the media during practice.

They said it

Auburn picked up a commitment from 2024 4-star DL TJ Lindsey. When he asked what he liked about Hugh Freeze, he said the following:

"He's very brutally honest," Lindsey said. "And that's what I love about him. Very good man, too, you can tell. He loves to hear about the people he knows and coaches. Very honest, he'll give it to you straight."
