Auburn Family fills the stands in win over California
This week, your Auburn Tigers traveled 2,000 miles across the country to Berkeley, California to take on the Cal Golden Bears. But the distance couldn’t stop the Auburn family. Close to 10,000 Auburn fans were in attendance in California Memorial Stadium.
The traditions came with them. The Tiger Walk was present in Berkeley, and it was a sight to behold.
This is what Hugh Freeze had to say about the Auburn Family after the game.
“Oh my gosh. I was blown away. I had no clue. And I had told our team that doesn’t happen in most places. Not for a trip like this, our fans are special. And I’m glad that our kids are seeing that. We don’t take that for granted. It’s just not something that happens at a lot of places.”
Eugene Asante, who breathed life back into this Auburn team with his elite level of play, was asked about how the Auburn family traveled.
“They bought in, and we need that. As a player, it’s basically a home field advantage having the student section there, people so excited to see us play. I’m so grateful to be a part of it. I heard, before I came here, about the family environment. It’s something special. You could really feel it today. Today’s the day you felt it.”
Auburn gained their first win over California in school history and the fans were happy to witness the chaotic game against the Golden Bears.
