Hugh Freeze made it clear very early on that the culture would change throughout the Auburn football program.

He's been very upfront in his faith and he's sharing messages from his faith to his team in meetings often since his arrival as Auburn's head football coach.

Shortly after his arrival, he flipped several members of Auburn football's 2023 recruiting class. Of those was quarterback Hank Brown.

Brown was committed to playing for Freeze at Liberty and once he was offered to follow Freeze to Auburn, he didn't hesitate to go to the SEC. If you follow Brown on social media, it's easy to see how vocal he is about his relationship with Jesus Christ and how important his faith is to him.

"I try to keep my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the center of my life and it's something that correlates into my entire life," Brown said on the Locked On Auburn podcast. "As far as football goes, I'm playing football and God's put me in this situation to glorify and honor Him and to use my platform to do that. This is a great opportunity to pour into my teammates. Any praise or glory that I get, it's not me. God has blessed me with what I have."

Brown shared that he approached Coach Freeze about starting a bible study for the team soon and it should start next week.

Auburn University was recently in the middle of a national story after thousands of Auburn students packed Neville Arena to worship, around 200 students were later baptized on campus in the lake by the Red Barn.

"It's been great having this community of believers around to push me," Brown said.

Brown continues to develop as a quarterback under Freeze and is an important part of game prep as he aims to simulate what opposing quarterbacks will do each week to help prepare the Auburn defense for their matchups this season. Still, Brown values his faith higher than anything.

"Number one for me is my faith and everything correlates around that," Brown said. "That's a huge part of my life and I'm trying to exemplify that, love others the way that Jesus loves."
