Coach Freeze shouts out Jeremiah Cobb and Eugene Asante for their performances against Cal
Coach Freeze was on Tiger Talk on Thursday to talk about the Cal game and preview the matchup with the Samford Bulldogs.
A fan asked Coach Freeze who surprised him most on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, and he gave an interesting answer on offense and a not-surprising one for the defense.
Coach Freeze responded, "I hate to single people out, but the first name that comes to mind is Jeremiah Cobb on offense. I'm really pleased that the stage doesn't seem too big for his demeanor. He's really, really talented. He kind of jump-started that last drive that gave us the win in Cal."
"Defensively, I would probably have to say Eugene Asante. He went from running second team in fall camp and second team the first game. Obviously, Austin Keys had the injury. It was next man up, and he made the most of it for sure."
It's great to hear that these players are impressing Coach Freeze a few games into the season.
Cobb is a really good football player that will be running the rock on Sundays soon. Asante is a player that many people didn't anticipate having a massive role for this football team, but an injury expanded his role, and he took advantage of it.
Auburn would not have won on the West Coast if it wasn't for these two Auburn Tigers.
