Hugh Freeze has coached some big names on the offensive side of the football
Hugh Freeze coached at Ole Miss and Liberty before taking the job at Auburn, and during his time at those two stops, he sent some big-name offensive skill position players to the NFL.
One thing Auburn hasn't had much of over the last few regimes is offensive skill players carve roles on NFL teams.
As it sits, currently, there are four former Auburn skill position players on active NFL rosters.
Jarrett Stidham QB, Las Vegas Raiders
CJ Uzomah TE, New York Jets
Darius Slayton WR, New York Giants
Anthony Schwartz WR, Cleveland Browns
The hope for Freeze taking over as the head man on the Plains is that he will re-vamp the offense so this football team can put up a lot of points.
He will have some talented skill position players on the roster that he can hopefully help develop into NFL-level talents over the next year.
Let's take a look at some of the skill position players Freeze has coached over his time at Ole Miss and Liberty.
Evan Engram TE, Jacksonville Jaguars
A.J. Brown WR, Philadelphia Eagles
DK Metcalf WR, Seattle Seahawks
Dawson Know TE, Buffalo Bills
Van Jefferson WR, Los Angeles Rams
Malik Willis QB, Tennessee Titans
Jordan Wilkins RB, Indianapolis Colts
Laquon Tredwell WR, Seattle Seahawks
Donte Moncrief WR, Retired
If I am a receiver, tight end, running back, or quarterback recruit, I'm looking at this list, thinking, wow, this coach can turn me into a star.
Hopefully, Freeze continues to put players in the pros but from now on, as the Auburn head coach.
