Hugh Freeze says Vanderbilt matchup is a 'scary game'
Auburn football has historically had a difficult time against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
ESPN FPI gives the Tigers a 84.0% chance to take down the Commodores on the road this fall. Despite most viewing Auburn as a clear step above Vanderbilt, the all-time series is tied 21-21-1.
Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze commented on the Tigers' trip to Nashville this weekend, claiming that heading to Vanderbilt is always been scary and difficult for him.
"This is a scary game to me," Freeze said. "I've always thought playing there was difficult for whatever reason. I know you can look at their schedule, or their record and say whatever, but they've played a tough stretch with Kentucky, Missouri, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, I mean that's a tough stretch of games. They've been competitive at times in all of them. It's a difficult place to play, and it's got my full attention. Hopefully our kids will be mature enough o approach this with the same hunger they did last week.
