Georgia State wide receiver Jamari Thrash liked what Auburn had to offer
The Auburn Tigers are looking for a wide receiver that helps elevate Hugh Freeze's offense in 2023. Georgia State wide receiver Jamari Thrash could be that guy.
He spoke highly of Auburn on his visit. "I was really highly impressed with the new facility and talking with coach Freeze and coach Davis," Thrash told Jason Caldwell of Auburn 247 in an interview. "They really showed me I was going to be a point of emphasis in the recruiting process. Auburn really made a nice impression on me today."
The 6-foot, 180-pound pass catcher caught 61 catches for 1,122 yards and seven scores last season at Georgia State.
Thrash is looking at who the quarterback will be in the offense that he chooses. He mentioned Robby Ashford could be polished this season and pointed out that he didn't throw a lot last season. Auburn seems to still be looking for another quarterback to join the roster from the transfer portal.
It looks like Auburn and Penn State are the two leaders for his services. According to On3's prediction machine, they give Auburn a 92.6% chance of landing Thrash. Penn State is given the remaining 7.4%.
