Auburn receives crystal ball prediction to land five-star WR Ryan Williams
Auburn has landed a prediction to get five-star Ryan Williams.
Williams, a five-star wide receiver in the 2024 class, has decommitted from the Crimson Tide, per Hayes Fawcett of On3. He has an official visit with the Tigers later this month. 247Sports' Bud Elliott submitted a crystal ball for the Tigers to land Williams minutes after he decommitted from the Tide.
Williams decommitted from Alabama immediately after head coach Nick Saban retired on Wednesday afternoon.
Hugh Freeze and the Tigers have been trying their hardest to flip Williams away from the Crimson Tide, who has been committed to Alabama since October of 2022. They've already flipped fellow five-star receiver Perry Thompson away from the Tide.
Williams caught 88 passes for 1,641 yards and 24 touchdowns, ran for 700 yards and 15 touchdowns on 57 rushes (12.3 yards per carry), returned two punts for touchdowns and passed for a score while leading his high school to a state title.
247Sports describes Williams as a dynamic playmaker who has "nuclear explosion out of cuts" and "projects as a high-major impact player with high-round NFL Draft upside."
The NFL comparison given from national scouting analyst is former Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley.
Williams has the chance to be special wherever he ends up. If the Tigers can find a way to flip him away from the Tide, it would mean Auburn has added three five-star receivers to their arsenal in the 2024 class.
