Safety Kensley Faustin has committed to the Auburn Tigers
Auburn goes for a two-in-one bundle today as Bryce Cain and now Kensley Faustin have been added to the 2024 class.
Faustin becomes the third defensive back to be added to the 2024 class. Unlike A'mon Lane and Jayden Lewis, Kensley projects to be a safety at the next level. He showed skill in his freshman and sophomore seasons where he played both wide receiver and safety but following his sophomore season he has been on the defensive side of the ball. The hands of a receiver make him quite the ball hawk in the back end of the defense.
The Naples, Florida native plays for Naples which is in one of the more competitive regions in Florida high school football. Tough competition aside Faustin has made a name for himself, so far in his career he has 121 career tackles, 10 interceptions, 14 pass breakups, and five forced fumbles. The most impressive thing is the forced fumbles, Faustin is a smaller player at five-foot-eleven and 170-pounds his ability to hit and hit hard is intriguing and could help an Auburn team that has struggled to generate turnovers in the past.
Auburn offered Faustin in September of last year and has been a part of his recruitment ever since. Zac Etheridge and Wesley McGriff have been key in this recruitment as on every visit he has taken they have made sure to emphasize his importance to the staff and the class. The most recent visit came earlier this month on June 9th when he officially visited. Following this visit the momentum seemed to point toward Auburn and that seems proven with a commitment.
Auburn now has seven commits, five four-stars, and two three-stars. With the addition of Faustin, they have gone from having the 47th class in the nation to 34th and have jumped from 11th to 9th in the conference.
