Auburn offered former Vanderbilt defensive end Nate Clifton

Auburn is after a defensive end who sacked Payton Thorne this year.

Nate Clifton is a veteran defensive end who played his first few seasons of college football in Nashville for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Clifton had the best season of his career for Vandy this year, where he totaled 5.5 sacks, 30 tackles, and an interception.

He even sacked Payton Throne when Auburn played Vanderbilt in Nashville on November 4th.

He had six total tackles to go with his sack in the Commodore's loss to Auburn.

The six-foot-five 280-pound defense end graded out at a 66.4 for the Commodores in 2023, which was ninth best on Vanderbilt's defense.

He is a great run-stopper as his grade in that category is a 71, which is higher than the others for the senior.

Clifton is also a captain for the Commodores, so he is a good leader who is respected by his teammates.

Auburn didn't get a ton of pass rush this season, so bringing in 5.5 sacks would be a big help for the Tigers in 2024 if they were able to land Clifton.
