Auburn Recruiting: 5-Star WR Caleb Cunningham Visiting Tigers
The Auburn Tigers need to add more size, speed and overall talent to the wide receiver depth chart. One of the top recruits that can help make that happen is taking an unofficial visit to Auburn this weekend.
His name is Caleb Cunningham and he's from Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County. The 6-foot-3 and 185-pound wide receiver and playmaker is already a major priority for numerous SEC schools, and Hugh Freeze and his Auburn program are definitely on that list. The Tigers extended an offer to Cunningham on Feb. 22, 2023. Here’s what Cunningham has on his X profile page:
Additionally, here are some of Cunningham’s SEC and Power 5 offer list:
Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida State, Miami, Southern California, Oregon, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, and Louisville.
Watching Cunningham's film, he's clearly a skillful player. Stop-and-start ability is clear; twitchy. Makes 50-50 catches with regularity. Difficult to bring down after the catch. Cunningham also has the frame to be a SEC No. 1 receiver.
As for Cunningham’s recruitment, Lane Kiffin and the Rebels are hot on his trail. With Ole Miss playing at Auburn this Saturday, that makes Cunningham’s timing interesting. The Tigers will be able to show the 5-star prospect that he’s a need on the Plains, but he’s still also going to be seeing his home-state school as well.
Keep an eye on Cunningham. This is the type of recruitment that Auburn needs to win if the Tigers are to propel themselves forward in the talent-rich SEC.
