Auburn University barely inside top-50 athletic programs for 2022-23 season
Auburn athletics were not at their peak during the 2022-23 season.
According to Big Game Boomer, the were barely one of the 50-best athletic programs in the nation.
BGB, a college football social media influencer, recently tweeted out his top 50 athletic programs from the 2022-23 season. Auburn came in at No. 49.
The Tigers were only ahead of Pepperdine, who rounded out the list. No. 49 put Auburn at No. 11 in the SEC.
The Southeastern Conference ranked as follows:
No. 1 Florida (No. 3 nationally)
No. 2 LSU (No. 7 nationally)
No. 3 Arkansas (No. 10 nationally)
No. 4 Georgia (No. 13 nationally)
No. 5 Vanderbilt (No. 25 nationally)
No. 6 Alabama (No. 28 nationally)
No. 7 Tennessee (No. 31 nationally)
No. 8 South Carolina (No. 34 nationally)
No. 9 Kentucky (No. 38 nationally)
No. 10 Texas A&M (No. 44 nationally)
The best athletic program of the 2022-23 season was Stanford, according to Big Game Boomer. The Cardinal won a whopping three national titles, an extra individual national championship in women's golf, an appearance in the men's and women's College World Series, the ICSA awarded Leonard M. Fowle Trophy for the best overall college sailing team, and a Pac 12 championship in men's golf.
It should also be noted that Stanford has won at least one NCAA team championship each academic year for 47 consecutive years, starting in 1976–77 and continuing through 2022–23. That's the longest streak in NCAA history.
If you learn nothing else today, know that Stanford dominates in all sports not named football or men's basketball.
