Five-star EDGE Jamonta Waller flips from Florida, commits to Auburn
Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers are stacking talent in their 2024 recruiting class.
Five-star EDGE Jamonta Waller has flipped from Florida and has committed to Auburn, per his social media. A 6-foot-2, 225-pound EDGE from Picayune Memorial High School in Picayune, Mississippi. Waker is the No. 5 EDGE and the No. 29 prospect overall in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
During his junior season, Walker finished with 106 tackles, 24 TFL, 11.5 sacks, one INT, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
Waller is the third five-star commitment in Auburn's 2024 class alongside WR Perry Thompson, who flipped from Alabama to the Tigers, and LB Demarcus Riddick, the No. 32 overall player in the 2024 cycle according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Tigers now have six players inside 247Sports' top 150 committed in 2024 despite only have seven players ranked 150 or higher in the last four recruiting cycles.
Waller committed immediately following Auburn's massive win over Arkansas.
Auburn moved the ball consistently on offense and the defense made the Arkansas unable to move the ball outside of the occasional first down until the game was over in the fourth quarter. Special teams were electric with a return from Keionte Scott that went for a touchdown as well as the kicking game staying perfect with Alex McPherson.
Auburn will be going to a bowl game during the first year of the Hugh Freeze era.
