Five stock risers from Auburn's loss to New Mexico State
Auburn just lost one of the most embarrassing games in a very long time at the hands of the New Mexico State Aggies.Β
Now, the Tigers have to get ready to face off with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl after this ugly loss.Β
On the stock risers' article, we generally write about five guys who played well in that week's game, but this week's version will be different as a few 2024 recruits will be discussed.Β
Let's take a look at five players who raised their stock during Auburn's loss to New Mexico State.Β
Elijah McAllister
Obviously, the Tigers didn't have a great defensive showing, but JACK Elijah McAllister made a few big plays for the Tigers. McAllister had two tackles and a sack in this game against New Mexico State. This was the second sack of the season for the senior. McAllister also graded out well on PFF, receiving a 67.6, which was the fourth highest on the defense.
Keldric Faulk
Like McAllister, freshman defensive lineman Keldric Faulk also made some excellent defensive plays for the Tigers. He had five tackles in this game, including a half tackle for loss. The freshman graded out at a 66.5, which was fifth best on the defense, right behind McAllister. Faulk has a very bright future ahead on the Plains.Β
2024 QB commit Walker White
Walker White was a winner from this game because with Payton Thorne struggling, there is a world where White could walk onto campus and compete for playing time. Thorne didn't really play awful based on the numbers but it's hard to say he has the job locked up for next season with a talented player like White walking in the door. While White might not play the second he gets on campus, he will at least get a fair shot at the job.Β
2024 WR commits Perry Thompson and Bryce Cain
Auburn's wide receivers have struggled all season long, which will give 2024 commits Perry Thompson and Bryce Cain a shot at early playing time. There is no guarantee that Walker White will see the field next season, but Cain and Thompson will 100% be out there catching passes for the Tigers. Both of these two, like White, will have special careers playing for the Auburn Tigers, and hopefully, one or both of them could end the Tiger's streak of not having a 1,000-yard receiver.Β
