Auburn's 12th-highest-rated commitment has officially signed with the program.

Malcolm Simmons, a 4-star wide receiver in the 2024 class, has signed with Auburn per his social media.

Phillips is the No. 29 wide receiver, No. 157 prospect nationally and the No. 13 player in the state of Alabama according to the 247Sports composite ratings.

Malcolm Russell

Size: 6-foot, 170 pounds

Position

: Wide Receiver

School

: Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell

Recruitment: Continues to trek to Auburn for unofficial visits. Simmons also plans to officially visit for the Iron Bowl versus Alabama. UCF, Arkansas, Troy, Liberty and other programs were in the mix prior to Simmons selecting Auburn on July 29, 2023.

Frame: Plays outside wide receiver, built like an outside receiver. In its truest sense, Simmons is built to play the flanker position to the wide side of the field because of his lean and athletic frame overall. Good arm length, high hips and long legs, this young man has the frame to be a 200-pound SEC receiver after a couple of years in the Auburn strength and conditioning program.

Athleticism: Explosive in the open field. High knees running down the gridiron and away from defensive backs. Simmons changes directions well; he is adept at keeping good speed when he shifts direction as well. Sinks his hips and breaks down when needing to come back to the football.
