Malik Autry becomes the first member of the Auburn 2025 recruiting class
Auburn has landed a distant but still important commitment in the form of Opelika defensive lineman Malik Autry.
Autry announces this commitment fresh off the heels of his visit to Auburn during the Junior Day event on Saturday.
Autry is young and his recruiting cycle still has two calendar years before it is complete, however, the Tigers should feel confident that Malik will stay as he seems to be locked in with his commitment to what is essentially his hometown team, as he is an incoming Junior for the Opelika Bulldogs.
This commitment is impressive considering how many offers he has gained from top programs - Auburn, Michigan, Georgia, and Kentucky are all big names who have offered and expressed interest in the young talent.
Malik might be young but he is already a college-ready prospect in terms of height and weight. Autry stands at 6'6 and weighs 280 pounds. This size will definitely translate to him being a more interior guy in his future high school and college career.
Autry has played at edge and interior defensive tackle but will switch to interior only as he has grown and put on more weight.
The commitment of Autry has become the first of the 2025 class to commit for the Tigers and just the third commitment for the SEC in the 2025 class, joining rivals Alabama and Georgia.
