Two Former Auburn Tigers Taking Visits With NC State Wolfpack

Two former Tigers are taking a look at the Wolfpack.

The Auburn Tigers have lost 14 players to the transfer portal this offseason.

There are probably more to come, but the Tigers haven't really lost production despite losing a decent number of bodies. Two of the most recent entries - both experienced defensive pieces for multiple seasons with Auburn - are taking a visit to the same school.

Linebacker Cam Riley and safety Donovan Kaufman have scheduled a visit with the NC State Wolfpack, per On3.

Cam Riley, who played for the Tigers for four seasons from 2020-2023, has entered the transfer portal, per 247Sports. Riley is Auburn's largest linebacker in program history, listed at 6-foot-5, 235 pounds. He was in position to start for the Tigers at the beginning of fall camp this past season.

Over the course of his four years with the Tigers, Riley racked up 120 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks. His best season came in 2022, where he collected 65 tackles, 3.5 for loss. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.

Auburn landed Duke transfer Dorian Maui earlier this offseason, who should be able to replace Riley's production.

Kaufman transferred in from Vanderbilt in 2020 and has spent the last three seasons on the Plains. During those three years, Kaufman recorded 109 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions.

Despite losing 14 players to the portal, Auburn has done a solid job replacing that talent by bringing in some new players of their own - a nice blend of talent and production across both sides of the ball.
