Auburn Briefing: Basketball thrived, Football folded

It was a completely different scene for basketball and football yesterday.

The TransPerfect Music City Bowl did not go as planned for Auburn. The Tigers fell 31-13 at the hands of the Maryland Terrapins at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

The Auburn basketball team, however, had as good of a result as it could have hoped for as it routed Tennessee-Chattanooga 101-66 at home inside Neville Arena in front of a solid crowd for a football gameday.

The results could not have been more different, but Auburn can take pride in the fact that it did not lose two games on the same day.

Auburn basketball returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts the Penn Quakers at home inside Neville Arena. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT and the broadcast can be found on SEC Network.

Auburn women's basketball update

The Auburn women's basketball team plays its final non-conference game of the season at home this afternoon. The Tigers are hosting the North Alabama Lions, tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and the broadcast can be found on SEC Network+.
