Baylor Bears Set to Face Air Force Falcons in Armed Forces Bowl
The Baylor Bears have finally had their bowl destination decided and will be heading to the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth to face off against the 9-3 Air Force Falcons on December 22.
The Bears, who finished the season 6-6, have faced off against the Falcons three times in their history, and lead the all-time series between the two 3-0.
The last time the two team's squared off was in 1977, with the Bears winning 38-7 in Waco.
The two teams also played in back-to-back years in 1961 and 1962, with the Bears winning at the Air Force Academy in Colorado 10-3 in 1962, and 31-7 in Waco in 1961.
The Falcons will present the unique challenge of the triple option attack on offense, which is something that the Bears have not faced in quite some time.
Air Force leads the entire nation in rushing offense, averaging 330.92 yards per game on the ground. The next closest team is Army, which averages 304.36 yards per game. They are the only two teams to average over 300 yards on the ground this season.
The Bears currently rank No. 45 in the country in stopping the run, and No. 3 in the Big 12, giving up just 137.58 yards per contract.
In other words, something will have to give in Fort Worth.
