Baylor's Odds to Win Big 12 Fall After Oklahoma State Loss
Following a loss to Oklahoma State, the Baylor football team faces plenty of questions moving forward. One glaring question surrounds whether or not Dave Aranda's Bears can climb back to vie for the Big 12.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Baylor had the best odds to win the Big 12 on Sept. 30. That has since changed, but so has the rest of the league.
The complete list of odds as of Sept. 30 is mind-boggling:
Team: Sept. 30 Odds: Preseason Odds:
Baylor +320 +700
Oklahoma +400 +160
Kansas State +400 +1800
Oklahoma State +425 +500
Texas +800 +270
TCU +1000 +1500
Texas Tech +1800 +4500
Kansas +1800 +30000
Iowa State +4000 +2000
West Virginia +5000 +3000
That was before the entire conference was yet again thrown for a loop on Saturday. The conference is so twisted, Kansas is hosting ESPN's College Gameday against TCU. This parity is reflected in the new odds.
Team odds as of Oct. 5:
Oklahoma State +240
Kansas State +350
Texas +425
TCU +450
Baylor +800
Kansas +1000
Oklahoma +1600
Texas Tech +4000
Iowa State +10000
West Virginia +20000
The entire top-8 in the conference was mixed up over the weekend. Namely, Baylor and Oklahoma both plummeted, but the door is still open.
However, with Kansas, TCU and Kansas State all ranked and still ahead of the Bears, the toughest gauntlet of the season is still ahead of this team. That’s not a positive.
Following a double-digit loss to Oklahoma State, a look down the road is not a promising one for the Bears. Even some unranked opponents left on the docket, such as Oklahoma and Texas, still pose real threats to this team.
