Baylor Bears Rise in Latest AP Top 25 Poll
The Baylor Bears moved up one spot to No. 16 in the AP Top 25 poll after their road win over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday.
The AP Top 25 was released on Sunday afternoon.
The Bears (3-1, 1-0 in Big 12) started the league slate with their 31-24 win over the Cyclones on Saturday, making them 1-1 on the road this season. The Bears lost their road opener earlier this season to BYU, which remains in the Top 25.
The Bears are now prepping for this Saturday’s contest with Oklahoma State, a rematch of last year’s Big 12 Championship game, which ended in a Baylor victory. The Bears and Cowboys will kick off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium in Waco.
It will be a Top 25 matchup, as the Cowboys — who were off in Week 4 — held steady at No. 9 and are now the top-ranked Big 12 team.
The Georgia Bulldogs remained the nation’s No. 1 team, followed by No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Clemson, No. 6 USC, No. 7 Kentucky, No. 8 Tennessee, No. 9 Oklahoma State and No. 10 North Carolina State in the Top 10.
Penn State was No. 11, followed by Utah, Oregon, Ole Miss, Washington, Baylor, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, BYU and Arkansas to round out the Top 20.
The final five spots went to No. 21 Minnesota, No. 22 Wake Forest, No. 23 Florida State, No. 24 Pitt and No. 25 Kansas State.
