Baylor's Gall, Galvin, Ika Named to Outland Trophy Watch List
A trio of Baylor football players, including offensive linemen Jacob Gall and Connor Galvin along with defensive lineman Siaki Ika, were named to the Outland Trophy Watch List on Tuesday by the Football Writers Association of America.
The Outland Trophy is awarded yearly to the nation’s best interior lineman.
Gall, a sixth-year senior transfer from Buffalo, started all 14 games at center for the Bears last year. Overall, Gall has appeared in 47 career games with 27 starts.
A 6-2, 299-pound offensive lineman out of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gall has also been named to the 2022 Preseason All-Big 12 First Team by both Athlon and Phil Steele.
He is also on Dave Campbell's Texas Football 2022 Preseason All-Texas Second Team.
Galvin, a fifth-year senior for Baylor, started all 14 games at left tackle for the Bears in 2021 and has played in 45 career games with 37 starts.
A 6-7, 302-pound offensive lineman out of Katy, Texas, Galvin has also been named to the 2022 Preseason All-America Second Team by Phil Steele and the 2022 Preseason All-Big 12 First Team by both Athlon and Phil Steele.
In addition, he is also on Dave Campbell's Texas Football 2022 Preseason Best Offensive Lineman in Texas and the 2022 Preseason All-Texas First Team.
Ika, a fourth-year junior transfer from LSU, was the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2021 and was tied for the third-most sacks on the team with four. He played in 13 games last season with 12 starts.
A 6-4, 358-pound defensive tackle out of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ika has also been named to the 2022 Preseason All-America Third Team by Phil Steele and the 2022 Preseason All-Big 12 First Team by both Athlon and Phil Steele.
He is also on Dave Campbell's Texas Football 2022 Preseason Best Defensive Lineman in Texas and the 2022 Preseason All-Texas First Team.
