Robert Griffin III's broadcasting career has seemed to bring him back into the pantheon of college football greats from the last decade, even though he hasn't taken a snap in two years. Now, videos are circulating social media of his freakish highlights from Baylor and in the NFL, as if we forgot.

Griffin says he's ready to make some new highlights.

At his recent football camp in McGregor, TX, Griffin spoke about a possible comeback as well as his current job as an ESPN football analyst.

"I am ready to go right now, I train every day," Griffin told KWTX. "If I get that call this year, next year, five years from now, I will be ready to play."

Talks of Griffin's potential comeback started after the former Heisman winner ran a 4.48 40-yard dash at the "Run Rich Run" charity event this year. The 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year said on the Rich Eisen Show Tuesday he "did get some calls" from NFL teams after they saw his 40 time.

Griffin hasn't taken a snap since December 2020 when he was with the Baltimore Ravens. After not being signed that offseason, it seemed like the end of his 9-year NFL career, although he never announced his retirement.

Without a new contract, he went in front of the camera for the 2021 season, becoming one of ESPN's lead college football analysts, including providing color commentary on two Bears games. Until he gets that call from the NFL, he is embracing his role on TV.

"I still love to play, but right now I am just focused on doing the best I can as a storyteller and giving back to football as much as I can," Griffin told KWTX.

Griffin also admitted on the Rich Eisen Show he knows the "clock is ticking" on a comeback at age 32. In eight seasons where he battled numerous long-term knee injuries, Griffin threw 43 touchdowns to 30 interceptions, threw for over 9,000 yards in 56 games and finished his career with a quarterback rating of 86.5.
