NFL Draft Prospects: Baylor's Connor Galvin Elite at His Position
Two years ago, Connor Galvin was leading arguably the worst offensive line in the FBS and now, after deciding to take advantage of the extra year of eligibility he earned in that grueling 2020 season, he is one of the best at his position and anchoring one of the best units in college football.
Roughly 10 months away from the 2023 NFL Draft, Galvin earned his spot inside the top 10 offensive tackles in America according to Pro Football Focus, ranking second among tackles in the Big 12.
Galvin is projected by many outlets to be a day two pick, but his exploits in 2021Â prove he could be among the best in the draft, regardless of position on the line.
Galvin took home the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award a season ago, along with third-team All-American honors. The tackles picked ahead of him for the All-American teams? Those would be Ikem Okownu (NC State) and Evan Neal (Alabama,) both top 10 picks in 2022.
In Baylor's historic season, the offensive line only allowed 18 sacks total and Galvin went 410 pass-blocking snaps without allowing a sack.
At 6'7" and 310 pounds, Galvin is already NFL size and will once again lead a strong unit into 2022, as Baylor returns their starting offensive line from one of the most potent rushing attacks in the Big 12 in 2021.
