Five Baylor Bears Earn AP All-Big 12 Honors
Five Baylor Bears football players earned All-Big 12 Conference accolades from the Associated Press, which was announced on Friday.
Connor Galvin, a senior offensive lineman, and Siaki Ika, a junior defensive lineman, earned First Team honors, while a trio of seniors —linebacker Dillon Doyle, offensive lineman Grant Miller and safety Al Walcott — received Second Team recognition.
Galvin, a 6-7, 302-pound offensive lineman out of Katy, Texas, broke the Baylor school record with 49 career starts and has picked up numerous accolades while donning green and gold, including being named Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2021.
Ika, a 6-4, 358-pound defensive lineman out of Salt Lake City, Utah, tallied 24 total tackles (10 solo), five quarterback hurries, two tackles for loss and two pass deflections in 2022. He was also named Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2021.
Doyle, a 6-3, 240-pound linebacker out of Iowa City, Iowa, racked up 80 total tackles (35 solo), three quarterback hurries, two interceptions and two pass deflections in 2022. Offensively, as a fullback, he racked up 11 yards on six carries along with two receptions for four yards with a touchdown.
Miller, 6-4, 312-pound offensive lineman out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has played in 57 games over his college career, which began at Vanderbilt, and has been a solid force on the line for the Bears for the past two seasons.
Walcott, a 6-2, 219-pound safety out of Wilmington, North Carolina, played a majority of the 2022 season with a cast on one hand and still managed 80 total tackles (41 solo), 10 tackles for loss, four pass deflections, three forced fumbles, two sacks and one interception in 2022.
