Baylor Lands Commitment From In-State DE Trey Wilson
The Baylor Bears continued their hot recruiting momentum on Wednesday, landing a commitment from Lakeview Centennial (Garland, TX) defensive end Trey Wilson.
Wilson made the announcement on his personal Instagram account.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive lineman now joins a class that is 24 commitments strong and one of the top classes in the entire country.
Wilson chose the Bears over USC, Michigan Utah and Washington, as well as offers from a plethora of other FBS programs, including Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Kansas State, Kansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Purdue, Stanford, TCU, Texas Tech, and more.
The Bears got an official visit from Wilson in June and quickly jumped to the front of the pack, landing an official visit with the talented pass rusher on Wednesday.
In his junior season, Wilson was named as a Texas District 9-6A first-team selection at defensive end. He was also the district's defensive newcomer of the year in his sophomore campaign.
He also projects as a defensive end at the college level.
Wilson is now the 11th defensive commitment of the 2023 class for Dave Aranda, as well as the fifth defensive line commitment.
The Baylor class is headlined by its offensive commitments, including Dripping Spring (TX) quarterback Austin Novosad, who officially visited Ohio State over the weekend.
