Former Bears' GK Jennifer Wandt Signs With Trelleborgs FF

Wandt recently signed a contract with Trelleborgs FF to play professionally.

The Baylor Bears have had a good run in their athletic department in recent years, with football winning a Big 12 title and both men's and women's basketball taking home national titles.

As a result, the Bears have seen numerous players go on to play professionally once they were done at the collegiate level. However, while Baylor football and basketball have grabbed the headlines, another Bear found themselves signing a professional contract recently.

Jennifer Wandt, a former Baylor goalkeeper for the women's soccer team, has signed with Trelleborgs FF. Trelleborgs FF are a professional team located in Trelleborg, Sweden, playing in the Division I League.

Wandt would play 97 games in her career at Baylor, as she would set the Baylor record for shutouts and total wins, with 39 and 52 respectively, with her 39 shutouts also good for second most in Big 12 history.

Her 2020 season was especially good, as she would finish with a .896 save percentage and 0.51 Goals Against Average. She would be named the Second Team All-Big 12 team goalie for both the 2020 season following her impressive performance.

Wandt becomes the fourth former Bear to play soccer professionally, as she will join a trio of former Bears. Danielle Hayden is with El Rayo Vallecano Feminino in Madrid while Aline Milene De Lima is playing with Ferroviária in Brazil.

As well, she will become the second Bear playing professionally in a Swiss league, joining Bri Campos who plays with Umeå IK in Sweden. Wandt will look to make a mark for Trelleborgs FF, and become another former Bear who has success at the professional level.
