Heading into what could be their biggest game of the year in Week 2 against the Baylor Bears at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday night, the BYU Cougars will be without their top two wide receivers, according to a report

Junior Puka Nacua, who sprained his ankle last week in the team's season opener vs. South Florida, and has been in a walking boot all week.

Perhaps the top NFL prospect for the Cougars, Nacua had one catch for 22 yards and three rushes for 76 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener before his injury.

For his career, Nacua has 60 catches for 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns. Last season in his breakout campaign, Nacua led the team with 43 catches for 805 yards and six scores and rushed 14 times for 148 yards.

Meanwhile, Gunner Romney is also expected to miss the game, after missing Week 1 with an undisclosed injury.

Romney was second on the team in receiving in 2021, finishing with 34 catches for 594 yards and three touchdowns. Throughout his five-year career, Romney has 117 catches for 1,900 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Cougars and the Bears are set to kick off at 9:15 pm central time in Provo, Utah.
