Can the Big 12 Pass the SEC and Big 10?
It’s mailbag time on Locked On Baylor as Drake and Cam tackle the toughest questions from the Big 12 surpassing the SEC and Big 12 to Blake Shapen winning another conference title for the Bears.
To start, it’s very clear that the Big 12 is not equipped to ascend the ranks and become the best conference in sports. The SEC and Big 10 have staked their claim on college ball from the field to the bank account.
However, the room for growth and expansion in the Big 12 is much higher than any other surviving league. The ceiling of the conference is so far above where the 12 teams currently stand, and Brett Yormark can rise to the occasion and turn the Big 12 into a powerhouse bunch.
Dialing into Baylor talk, Drake and Cam are both on board with Baylor vying for a Big 12 title again this season, and Blake Shapen won’t need to be a hero to do so. Gerry Bohanon wasn’t always going to win Baylor the game, but he seldom lost it for the Bears. Shapen will be just fine to fit that same mentality. Do your job, and don’t screw things up monumentally.
To finish it, the guys tackle Baylor's football schedule in 2022. Listener Calvin Small asks what three-game stretch will be the toughest for the Bears this year, and Drake and Cam both conjured up different answers. Is it Iowa State, Oklahoma State and West Virginia or Oklahoma, Kansas State and TCU?
