Locked on Baylor: Ranking Baylor's Toughest Games in 2022
There are 12 Baylor football games in 2022, seeing as that is the typical number of regular season games for a power five school.
With nine games against Big 12 opponents and three non-conference matchups — highlighted by a game at BYU — Locked On Baylor sees Drake and Cameron rank Baylor's 2022 games from easiest to toughest.
Here's how each list shakes out:
Drake Cameron
12. Albany (H) 12. Albany (H)
11. Texas State (H) 11. Texas State (H)
10. Kansas (H) 10. Kansas (H)
9. Texas Tech (A) 9. Texas Tech (A)
8. TCU (H) 8. TCU (H)
7. Kansas State (H) 7. Iowa State (A)
6. Iowa State (A) 6. West Virginia (A)
5. West Virginia (A) 5. Kansas State (H)
4. Oklahoma State (H) 4. Texas (A)
3. Texas (A) 3. Oklahoma State (H)
2. BYU (A) 2. Oklahoma (A)
1. Oklahoma (A) 1. BYU (A)
The first three games are self-explanatory. Two FCS schools and Texas State should be three easy wins. The game against Texas Tech is also one that should go the Bears' way.
TCU and Kansas State at home are both games that Baylor should win, but the Wildcats present a challenge with a veteran squad coming to Waco. Dave Aranda is 2-0 against the squad, though.
As for the top half of the list, it's tough to argue against Texas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and BYU making up the four toughest matchups this season.
With three of those four games on the road, the difference in 7-5 and 11-1 starts with how well the Bears can compete in these four tilts.
