Quarterback Anthony Brown Out For Year Due To Injury
Update (1pm): At today's press conference Steve Addazio confirmed that Anthony Brown will be out the rest of the year. Steve Addazio spoke on his redshirt junior's injury, "Anthony Brown is going to be out for the year with a lower leg injury. He worked so hard to get to where he is. He’s a tough guy and he’ll bounce back." Sophomore Dennis Grosel will get the start against the Wolfpack on Saturday.

11:00 am Boston College will be without quarterback Anthony Brown this week against NC State after a non contact injury two weeks ago against Louisville that had him leave the game and appear on crutches after halftime. While official word has not been released yet, he has been left off this week's depth chart
Brown a three year starter had thrown for 1250 yards this year along with nine touchdowns and 2 interceptions which put him on pace for career bests in every statistical category. Brown was having good success this year with long throws but at times struggling with his short and intermediate passes. In what could be his final game of the year Brown threw 6/7 for 193 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals including a 72 yard pass to tight end Hunter Long.
Brown's injury could be the second season ending injury in three years with the Eagles. In 2017 he suffered an eerily similar non contact injury on a run against NC State that ended with surgery and ended his season. Last year he made it through the year but was injured against Clemson when he was brutally sacked by Christian Wilkins and was removed from that game, he returned the next week against Florida State.
This loss means the Eagles are going to need to turn to Dennis Grosel, a redshirt sophomore. Grosel finished the Louisville game going 9/24 with three touchdowns and an interception. He looked poised but not overly accurate, and made some plays with his legs as well. Matt Valecce, will be the backup, he was the more sought after recruit but hasn't seen any playing time outside of scrimmages and the spring game.
Head coach Steve Addazio will most likely address the starting situation when he holds his weekly press conference starting at noon. We will have updates as soon as they are out.
