Former Boston College Quarterback Darius Wade Transfers To Bowling Green

Former Boston College offensive coordinator and now Bowling Green Head Coach Scot Loeffler has continued to raid former BC players to join him with the Falcons. First it was quarterback Matt McDonald, then it was Davon Jones, now it is former starting quarterback Darius Wade (according to reports).

Wade finished an up and down career with the Eagles after being the first quarterback recruited by Steve Addazio. He was given a chance in 2015, but suffered a catastrophic leg injury against the Florida State Seminoles, and then in 2017 season he was relegated to back up duty behind graduate transfer Patrick Towles. It looked like 2017 was going to be his year, but he was beat out in summer camp by Anthony Brown who played a majority of the season. Wade however had his moments, bringing the Eagles to victories over Syracuse and UConn, while also playing pretty well in the Pinstripe Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
In 2018 he transferred to Delaware, his home school, but never saw playing time as he never cracked the two deep. By not playing he preserved his eligibility and thus this transfer. This transfer makes all the sense in the world for Loeffler, who reportedly is down to one scholarship quarterback. Hopefully he will be given one more chance to start, he is av a very likeable player and one that is easy to root for. Good luck Darius!
