After getting embarrassed in Death Valley, Boston College heads to the Carrier Dome Saturday in desperate need of a win. Let’s break it down.

Who: The 3-5 Syracuse Orange. After a 10-win season in 2018, Syracuse has struggled mightily in 2019. Their three wins are against Liberty, Western Michigan and Holy Cross and are currently 0-4 in the conference. Dino Babers club has an up-and-down defense but a very down offense that has one of the worst offensive lines in college football.

Where: The Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York.

Weather: It’s a dome.

When: 12:00PM/ET, 10AM/Mountain Time.

What Channel: ACC Network Extra

Where I'll Be Watching: Full disclosure – I’ll be following on my phone and watching the replay afterwards.

What's the Spread: BC are currently 3.5-point underdogs.

What Else? Basketball is starting soon! This coming Wednesday with an ACC home opener against Wake Forest. Holy smokes that came quick. I will try and write a quick preview on the team and schedule next week.

Most Important Dude(s)

DT Tanner Karafa, DE Marcus Valdez, DE Richard Yeargin

Can’t really emphasize this enough, Syracuse’s offensive line is really bad and has been the root cause to all their woes this year. Quarterback Tommy DeVito has been harassed the whole year and he hasn’t been able to get it to some talented weapons at receiver. So advantage BC right?

Not quite. We have been terrible at pretty much all things on defense this year but our defensive line can’t get off their blocks in the run game and can’t generate any pressure on opposing QBs. If we’re going to beat Cuse, we need to take advantage of the porous Orange offensive line.

3 Keys to #SOAR'N

1) Get the ball to Zay, Ben & Kobay – Do you guys remember the Virginia Tech game? Where Kobay made an insane TD catch? And Zay Flowers burnt the Tech secondary for 6? What about last year? Remember Ben Glines vs Wake? Or Cuse? We have some talent on the outside. Use them. Take some deep shots. It will help our run game too.

2) Force Turnovers – Forcing turnovers has pretty much been the only way we have stopped opponents this year. Probably going to need to do that Saturday too.

3) Make Kicks – We need to make all field goals and extra points. Every opportunity to get points that our offense provides, we need to capitalize.

Final Prediction

Syracuse 28

Boston College 27

The Carrier Dome has been a house of horrors. I think we experience more of the same and lose a winnable game.

Giblin's Gambles

This Will Be Where I Make A Few CFB Picks Each Week - Use At Your Own Risk My Season Goal: Over 57%

2019 Record: 40-34-1, 54.1%

I got some bad UNDER luck last week with crazy scoring late. 5-3 flipped to 3-5. Tough one. Let’s bounce back.

I got some bad UNDER luck last week with crazy scoring late. 5-3 flipped to 3-5. Tough one. Let’s bounce back.

1) Army +16 at Air Force - The Cadets are struggling this year no doubt. But this is a rivalry game between the Academies. Take the points. This will be close.

2) Kansas State -6 at Kansas – A week after beating OU, will the Wildcats have a letdown? No. They’ll take care of their in-state little brother.

3) TCU at Oklahoma State OVER 60.5This game is always a wild ride. It’s going to be a high scoring fun game. Take the over.

4) Pittsburgh – 7.5 at Georgia TechPitt has the type of offense and defense that I think will give the Jackets problems in a rebuilding year. Take the Panthers.

5) Indiana -11.5 vs Northwestern – I just don’t think Northwestern can score this year.

(I may have more picks later and I'll tweet them accordingly. #SOAR
