Boston College is usually an afterthought when it comes to programs that discuss college football. However this Saturday, October 19 CBS will be airing a new documentary series at 2:30 entitled "Four Sides Of The Story" in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the birth of college football. This week to kick it off they are going to look at back at Doug Flutie and his famous throw to Gerard Phelan that sealed a win over Miami in November of 1984.

While this story has been told and retold many times, this documentary sounds like it really dives in by presenting different aspects of the play, from Flutie and Phelan themselves to the refs, to Miami players. Per a release from CBS:

“Hail Flutie!” unpacks the Hail Mary thrown by Doug Flutie to Gerard Phelan on the final play of the game. The touchdown gave Boston College an unlikely win over Miami – the defending champions – and created a moment that has lasted forever in football lore. The four sides of “Hail Flutie!” will be told by:

· Doug Flutie & Gerard Phelan, Boston College’s Quarterback and Receiver

· Brent Musburger, Play-by-Play Announcer for the Game

· Paul Schmitt, Referee

· Melvin Bratton & Reggie Sutton, Miami Players

Unfortunately, this will be running in the middle of the Boston College and NC State game which starts at noon, but it looks like a must watch for Eagles fans. So make sure to fire up that DVR if you want to catch it after the game.

You can catch a teaser of the documentary below.
