No. 2 Boston College Men’s Hockey Defeats USNTDP in Exhibition
In his fourth game as an Eagle, forward Teddy Stiga scored his first collegiate goal at the 3:31 mark of the first period against his former team, one of his two scores of the night.
Stiga’s goal was the beginning of an offensive onslaught in the No. 2 Boston College Eagles men’s hockey team’s 8-4 exhibition win over the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
During the contest, seven Eagles tallied scores which included a quartet of players recording their first goals of the season, Stiga, Gentry Shamburger, Dean Letourneau, and Mike Posma. Boston College also saw goals from Will Skahan, Gabe Perrault, and James Hagens.
For Team USA, four prospects scored including a pair from future Hockey East players. Harvard commit Richard Gallant, Boston University commit Jack Murtagh, Michigan commit Drew Schock IV, and Minnesota commit Jacob Kvannicka each tallied one goal in the exhibition.
Goalie Jan Korec got the start for the Eagles. In his first outing of the year, he tallied 24 saves, four goals against, and one power play goal.
Penalties plagued Boston College throughout the night as the team recorded six penalties for 12 minutes, a season high.
The Eagles will cap off their first home stand of the season with a game against the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday, Oct. 26. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET.
