No. 3 Boston College Men’s Hockey Shuts Out Northeastern
The No. 3 Boston College Eagles (9-2, 4-1) men’s hockey team earned its ninth win of the season with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Northeastern Huskies on Friday night at Conte Forum.
The Eagles success started early as the team scored two goals in the opening frame. Forward Ryan Leonard put Boston College on the board with a score assisted by Gabe Perreault and James Hagens at the 4:18 mark and forward Andre Gasseau extended the Eagles lead with a goal at the 10:18 mark with help from Lukas Gustafsson and Oskar Jellvik.
Following a scoreless second period, Boston College put a final score on the board at the 1:07 mark of the third by Leonard, his second of the night.
After missing one game due to a suspension for throwing a punch against UConn last weekend, Eagles goalie Jacob Fowler returned to the net where he tallied 28 saves and was credited with the shutout, his fourth of the season.
Next up, the Eagles travel to Matthews Arena in Boston to play the series finale. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET.
