Two Late Goals by Ryan Leonard Push No. 2 Boston College Men’s Hockey Past No. 14 Western Michigan

The Eagles wrap up their first home stand of the season with a victory against the Broncos.

The No. 2 Boston College Eagles (3-1) men’s hockey team capped off its first home stand of the season with a 4-2 win over the No. 14 Western Michigan Broncos (3-1) on Saturday night. 

Western Michigan got off to a quick two score advantage with goals from right winger Owen Michaels and defenseman Robby Drazner in the first 11 minutes of the contest. 

After falling behind, Boston College slowly chipped away at the its deficit. The team put its first score on the board in the second with a goal by left winger Andre Gasseau and tied the game up early in the third with a goal by left winger Teddy Stiga. Both goals marked the first of the season for each player. 

With less than a minute remaining in regulation, Eagles right winger Ryan Leonard scored the go-ahead goal and 28 seconds later put an additional score on the board with an empty net goal to secure the win for Boston College. 

Eagles goalie Jacob Fowler tallied 20 saves in the victory. 

Next up, Boston College travels to St. Cloud, Minn., to play a series against No. 12 St. Cloud State next weekend.
