Boston College recruiting has been on fire the past week as the Eagles landed not only their second recruit of the week from the class of 2021, but the second Massachusetts recruit of the week

According to his Twitter, Everett defensive end Josaiah Stewart has committed to the Eagles:

The 6'2 235 pound Stewart is a three star recruit according to 247 sports, had offers from Boston College and Syracuse, with interest from UMass, Buffalo and Rutgers. He is the second defensive end in the class, joining TJ Guy who committed to the Eagles earlier this week.

As mentioned earlier this week, the story here is that BC is starting to close on some bigger Massachusetts recruits early, something they haven't been able to do in years past. Whether this has to do with the improvement in facilities, new recruiting tactics (they had a huge BBQ for recruits this year) or other factors remains to be seen. But getting in early with these recruits, before bigger schools can pry them away is great news for the Eagles.

Bringing together a strong local class of good recruits like TJ Guy, Owen McGowan and Stewart should help the Eagles land recruits like 4* offensive linemen Drew Kendall (currently has a 100% Crystal Ball to BC), 4* tight end Louis Hansen, 4* linebacker Sam Ofurie, 3* OT Bennett Pitcher and most importantly, Stewart's teammate 3* athlete Tyler Baptiste. All of these recruits have Boston College offers, but also offers from schools like Michigan, Baylor and others.

You can check more of Josaiah's game film out by clicking here. The film shows a lot of what you see in Massachusetts recruits film, a huge kid playing with much smaller opponents. Stewart looks enormous against his opponents and effortlessly shoves offensive linemen aside with clearly superior strength. Clearly he will face tougher opponents in college, and may be raw given the challenges he faced in HS or lack there of.
