On Monday, the new AP poll for college basketball was released and BYU dropped two spots from no. 18 to no. 20 after splitting last week's games 1-1. BYU took down UCF on Saturday for its first conference win in the Big 12. BYU will look to continue its winning streak against Iowa State on Tuesday. Tuesday night's game will be a ranked matchup - Iowa State was ranked no. 24 in the updated AP poll.

That isn't the only ranked matchup BYU will play in this week. On Saturday, the Cougars travel to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech. The Red Raiders cracked the top 25 at no. 25.

The Big 12 is the best basketball conference in the country by a wide margin. BYU is one of eight Big 12 teams in the AP top 25. They are joined by Kansas (3), Houston (5), Baylor (9), Oklahoma (15), TCU (19), Iowa State (24), and Texas Tech (25).

BYU is looking for its first home conference win as a member of the Big 12. The first three games in conference play have been a sneak peek of how challenging the conference schedule will be. BYU's offense has not been as free-flowing, the shots have more contested, and offensive rebounds have been harder to come by.
