The Race for Third Place in the WCC

BYU suffered a setback on Thursday night in a conference loss at Pepperdine. The Cougars, who were coming off a two-game winning streak, struggled to get stops in their loss to the Waves. Coming into that game, Pepperdine had just one win in WCC play. The Cougars slid to fifth place in the WCC with the loss, and now their chances of getting the three seed are slim.

LMU now sits in third place after its upset win over Saint Mary's. Santa Clara is currently fourth in the WCC. LMU and Santa Clara face off on Saturday night.

2. Santa Clara has the easiest remaining schedule; according to KenPom, Santa Clara is favored to win every game except the game at BYU
