Puka Nacua Sets Record for Most Receiving Yards by Rookie in Playoff Game

Puka Nacua continues to break records in his rookie season

Puka Nacua's historic rookie season continues. On Sunday, Nacua set the record for the most receiving yards by a rookie in a playoff game. Nacua had 182 yards on 9 receptions and a touchdown. The previous record was held by DJ Metcalf.Β

Nacua had 105 receiving yards in the first half, including a 50-yard touchdown reception. That was the most receiving yards in a single half of a playoff by a rookie since Austin Collie had 104 in 2009. Collie, of course, is another former BYU wide receiver.

Nacua's performance comes just one week after he set the record for the most receiving yards and the most receptions by a rookie.

Nacua was all over the field on Sunday. He was used in the run game, he caught touch passes over the middle and held on through contact, and he converted critical third downs in the screen game.Β

The Rams fell just short of pulling off the win on the road in a 23-24 loss. Nacua's rookie season is officially over, but his inaugural campaign will be remembered for a long, long time.
