BYU Signees in the Polynesian Bowl

1. Ephraim Asiata - LB #44

Ephraim Asiata was one of the late additions to the 2024 class. Asiata, who is the son of former Utah legend Matt Asiata, picked the Cougars over competing offers from Utah, USC, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and San Diego State. Asiata took official visits to BYU, Utah, and USC during the process.

2. Tei Nacua - WR #10

The youngest Nacua brother will follow the paths of his older brothers and play for BYU. During the early signing window, Timpview standout wide receiver Tei Nacua signed with the Cougars. Nacua, who is listed at 6'2 and 170 pounds, possesses a lot of the same physical traits of his older brothers. He picked the Cougars over competing offers from Utah, Utah State, Washington State, San Diego State, and Hawaii.

As a senior at Timpview, Nacua racked up 974 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. His best performance of the season came in the semifinals against Olympus. He had 13 catches for 195 yards and a touchdown, and he had multiple receptions on the final drive to set up the game-winning field goal.

3. Ryner Swanson - TE #21

Last Summer, California native and four-star prospect Ryner Swanson announced his commitment to BYU over fellow finalists Texas, Oregon, Utah, and Texas A&M. He also held competing offers from Washington, Stanford, Ole Miss, Florida, Colorado, Arizona, and Arizona State among others.

Swanson stayed locked in with BYU and signed during the early signing window.

4. Devoux Tuataga - DE #50

Four-star edge rusher Devoux Tuataga signed his NLI on Wednesday. The Cedar Valley High School product is one of the top prospects in the state. He committed to the Cougars a few months ago over fellow finalists USC, Utah, Oregon State, and Tennessee. He also received competing offers from the likes of Oregon, Nebraska, Arizona and Washington during his recruitment. Tuataga is a four-star defensive end per Rivals.

Tuataga is one of the most gifted athletes in the state. He is listed at 6'6 and 240 pounds and he can jump out of the building. Tuataga is a dangerous edge rusher with good speed, the strength to bull rush, and the ability to disrupt in the run game. He consistently makes plays when things break down thanks to his effort. He also stars as a volleyball player - that's where he developed his vertical jumping ability. Devoux uses his jumping ability to get his hands in passing lanes. It will be fascinating to see how he fares against the elevated competition in the Polynesian Bowl. It wouldn't be surprising to see him emerge as one of the standouts from the game.

5. Faletau Satuala - S #10

BYU's most recent signee. Four-star Faletau Satuala committed to BYU during the All-American game. Satuala picked BYU over finalists Utah and UCLA. He also picked up offers from USC, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State, Oregon State, and Utah State during the process.

Faletau played on both sides of the ball at Bountiful High School. He projects as a linebacker or a safety at the next level, but he is talented enough to play some wide receiver or tight end.
