Spring Football Information that BYU Fans Need to Know
Signing day is in the books and Spring football is on the horizon. The BYU football program kicks off Spring camp next week. Here is all the logistical information that fans need to know ahead of Spring camp.
When Does BYU Spring Ball start?
BYU kicks off Spring camp on Monday, March 6. The Cougars will debut a new roster featuring many newcomers, headlined by quarterback transfer Kedon Slovis. Slovis comes to BYU by way of Pitt and USC.
This is also the first chance for BYU's new defensive staff to install a new scheme. Following the end of the 2022 regular season, BYU and defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki parted ways. BYU hired Weber State head coach Jay Hill to run the defense.
When is the BYU Spring Game?
For the first time since 2019, BYU will play a public Spring game on March 31, 2023. The scrimmage will be free to the public and will be played in LaVell Edwards Stadium. The scrimmage will be followed by an alumni game a few hours later. Below is a schedule for the scrimmage and alumni game.
Schedule for BYU football events on 3/31:
- 2:00 p.m. MT - LaVell Edwards Stadium gates open
- 3:00 p.m. MT - BYU Spring Scrimmage
- 5:00 p.m. MT - BYU Alumni Game
Will the Spring Game be Televised?
BYU announced that it will broadcast the 2023 Spring game on BYUtv.
