TCU QB Chandler Morris Leaves Game Against Iowa State with Injury

BYU plays at TCU next Saturday

On Saturday night, TCU quarterback Chandler Morris left the game against Iowa State with what appeared to be a knee injury. Morris was running a designed quarterback run when he was tackled awkwardly. Morris came up holding his knee and the trainers helped him to the sideline.

Morris was replaced in the lineup by redshirt freshman Josh Hoover. Hoover, a three-star recruit from Texas, fumbled a handoff on his first play from scrimmage. Hoover's second throw of the game was intercepted. On the ensuing drive, Iowa State dropped another would-be Hoover interception. Hoover has played in very limited opportunities at TCU. Coming into the game against Iowa State, Hoover had just four career pass attempts.

Morris' status for the rest of the game against Iowa State has not been announced. However, he was seen on the sideline without his helmet on.

Chandler Morris' injury could have major implications for BYU's upcoming game at TCU. Morris has been one of the most productive quarterbacks in the conference. Coming into the game against Iowa State, Morris had thrown for over 1,400 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also a major part of the Horned Frogs' rushing attack. He had already run for 235 yards going into the game against the Cyclones.

Morris' injury status will be a major storyline for both BYU fans and TCU fans alike over the next week.
