The 10 Highest-Graded Players from BYU's Loss to TCU
On Saturday afternoon, BYU lost in blowout fashion to TCU. With the loss, BYU is 4-2 as it prepares to host Texas Tech for homecoming. There weren't many positives to take away from this game, but there were some individual performances that BYU can build on. Here are the 10 highest-graded individual players from BYU's loss according to Pro Football Focus (minimum of 15 snaps played).
1. Brayden Keim - 80.6
If there's only one silver lining from this game, it's that BYU found its guy at right tackle. The right tackle spot has been a struggle for BYU this season, but Brayden Keim has emerged as a viable option in the starting lineup. Keim played his best game of the season against TCU and he had the best pass-blocking grade on the team.
2. Chase Roberts - 80.0
Wide receiver Chase Roberts has been BYU's best player on offense over the last two games. He finished with 64 receiving yards on 3 receptions against TCU. Roberts has been BYU's best receiver this season by a wide margin. Roberts leads the Cougars in receiving this season.
3. Eddie Heckard - 73.4
On a day with few highlights, Eddie Heckard made a highlight interception. Heckard played the coverage perfectly and made a spectacular one-handed interception. Heckard was the best player on BYU's defense against the Horned Frogs.
4. Joshua Singh - 71.0
Josh Singh played 16 snaps in the second half against TCU. He impressed the PFF evaluators in limited reps.
5. Kingsley Suamataia - 69.2
BYU left tackle Kingsley Suamataia had a very good pass block grade against TCU. Suamataia left the game with an injury but fortunately returned to the game after being evaluated by the team trainers.
6. Mory Bamba - 68.4
Mory Bamba made his first career start against TCU. Bamba played about as well as he could given the circumstances. The TCU receiving corps is one of the best BYU will face this season. Bamba replaced Kamden Garrett in the starting lineup. Garrett was unavailable due to injury.
7. Harrison Taggart - 68.2
Harrison Taggart is a future star for the BYU defense. In his second career start, Taggart had the best grade among BYU linebackers. Taggart's speed and physicality stand out when he's on the field.
8. Isaiah Bagnah - 67.5
Isaiah Bagnah batted a few passes at the line of scrimmage that could have been interceptions. Instead, the passes fell harmlessly to the turf. Bagnah also had a quarterback hit.
9. John Nelson - 66.3
John Nelson has been one of the most consistent contributors on BYU's defense. Nelson consistently makes plays when he is given opportunities. Nelson had a quarterback pressure and a few tipped passes.
10. Parker Kingston - 65.9
Parker Kingston had the longest play of the day with a 42-yard reception. Kingston ran a nice route and created separation. Had Slovis hit him in stride, Kingston would have scored a touchdown.
