Arizona Safety Prospect Thomas Prassas Commits to BYU
On Wednesday, three-star safety and Arizona native Thomas Prassas committed to BYU. Prassas, who is listed at 6'2, preps at the Brasha High School, the same school as current BYU safety Micah Harper. Prassas held competing offers from Air Force, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, and New Mexico State. He was also receiving interest from programs like Arizona, Arizona State, and Stanford.
Prassas is a good athlete that also competes in track. He clocked a 11.09 in the 100 meter and he has the vertical leaping ability to make plays like this one at the Arizona camp.
In his high school career, Thomas has racked up nearly 150 total tackles and five interceptions. Prassas received an offer from BYU defensive coordinator and safeties coach Jay Hill last week. It didn't take him long to jump at the opportunity to play his college ball in Provo. Under the previous defensive staff, BYU played a few converted cornerbacks at safety. It appears that Hill will prioritize true safety prospects to play the safety position in his defense.
Prassas is the sixth player to commit to BYU as part of 2024 recruiting class. He joins Siosefa Brown, Chance Harrison, Dallin Johnson, Enoch Watson, and Adney Reid.
The month of June is always a busy recruiting month for BYU. Month to date, BYU has received two commitments from Enoch Watson and Thomas Prassas.
