On Saturday, priority BYU quarterback target Grady Adamson shut down his recruitment and committed to Georgia Tech. Adamson, who had made the trip from Oklahoma to Utah a couple times to visit BYU, committed to the Yellow Jackets just 10 days after getting an offer. Adamson also held competing offers from the likes of Syracuse, Boston College, Pitt, USF, and a handful of smaller schools.

Losing Adamson to Georgia Tech stings. He was one of the top, if not the top, quarterback targets in the 2025 class. BYU offered a handful of quarterbacks earlier this year, and Adamson was one that BYU had prioritized after he came to Provo.

But in the world of recruiting, it happens. Sometimes you swing and miss. BYU has established relationships with other quarterbacks on their board, notably JP Mialovski out of California. The Cougars offered Mialovski back in December and he took an unofficial visit to BYU back in January.

Mialovski is a 2025 quarterback from Long Beach, California. Mialovski is rated a low three-star recruit and he holds competing offers from Ole Miss, Indiana, Cincinnati, Cal, San Diego State, and San Jose State. Given his junior film, this author would be surprised if his rating doesn't increase by the end of the recruiting cycle. He could be a really, really good pickup for BYU in the 2025 class.

As a junior, threw for 2,900 yards and 33 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions. Mialovski displays great touch on intermediate and deep throws and he can make plays with his legs.  Our site is temporarily under construction, so we can't include his highlights in this article. You can, however, check out his highlights in this article

However, Mialovski has established relationships with other schools as well. He has already scheduled official visits to San Diego State and Colorado State. If BYU wants to get in the mix in his recruitment, they will have to act fast.

Most of the other quarterbacks that BYU has offered have already committed to other schools. It's still not time to panic, since the Spring evaluation window kicks off in a couple weeks. If BYU doesn't have a viable option by June, then it might be time to worry.

BYU has to get a starting-caliber quarterback in the 2025 class. The Cougars can't continue to rely on the transfer portal at quarterback. For BYU to compete for Big 12 championships, they have to get back to recruiting high-quality high school quarterbacks and developing them into great college quarterbacks. That will be one of the top priorities over the next few months.
