Andy Alfieri, who received limited playing time while playing three positions for Cal, announced on social media that he has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.  He is schedule to graduate from Cal in May.

In another transfer portal move, Cal transfer defensive back Tyson McWilliams announced he has committed to UC Davis.

Alfieri chose Cal over offers from Oregon, Oregon State and Utah, among others and came to Cal as an outside linebacker.

He did not play as a true freshman and got into one game in 2021 as a redshirt freshman, although he did not record any statistics.

Alfieri was moved to tight end in the spring of 2022, and played in four games in the 2022 season, catching one pass for 5 yards.

In the spring of 2023, he was moved to fullback and played in one game -- the season opener against North Texas.  He carried the ball twice for 4 yards in that game.

Even though he will be a graduate transfer, Alfieri is expected to have two seasons of college eligibility remaining.

McWilliams is also a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining. He played in eight games during his four seasons at Cal, but did not start any of those games.

He played in two games in 2023 as a redshirt sophomore, and played in six games in 2022, when he made 14 tackles.
