Cal Transfer Kicker Mateen Bhaghani Commits to UCLA
Cal transfer place-kicker Mateen Bhaghani announced on Monday that he has committed to UCLA.
Bhaghani was a freshman this past season and he replaced Michael Luckhurst as the Bears' No. 1 place-kicker in the fifth game of the season and remained Cal's place-kicker the rest of the year.
Bhaghani was 8-for-9 on field-goal attempts, and was 2-for-2 in kicks behind 40 yards, with his longest being a 43-yarder. His only miss was a 30-yard attempt against Utah. He was a perfect 29-for-29 on extra points.
Bhaghani was a walk-on this past season.
Last year two Cal players transferred to UCLA. Wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant and linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo were starters at Cal in 2022, and were starters at UCLA this season. Oladejo finished third on the team in tackles with 54, and Sturdivant was second on the team in receptions with 36 for 597 yards and four touchdowns.
